New Not in HD Contributors
It’s not everyday I get the chance to introduce you to a new Not in HD contributor. Today I have the opportunity to introduce you to two.
Since starting the site in January, Britton, Dan and I have kept the ball rolling quite nicely, but we feel as our site has expanded, it’s time to bolster our staffso as to give you more and better quality content. So fasten your seat-belts and put on your hard hats, because your minds are about to get blown.
(Why do I feel like that should be a quote from an over-hyped Will Ferrell flick?)
I present to you, Cory Ritzau (on the right in the above photo).
Ritz is a good friend of mine, whom I met playing rugby in college. After a few visits to Wings ‘n Things (If you live in the Point Loma or Ocean Beach area of San Diego and are any kind of a man, you need to pay them a visit) we quickly came to the conclusion that he was born to write – a column for the sports section I edited at our school’s paper.
Ironically he is also a Dodgers fan, running the tally to four here at the site.
The three of you who used to read the old T-MOF site, will remember Cory as a topic of conversation, amidst running allegations of his companionship preference.
In all seriousness though, we are lucky to have him and though he likely will not contribute near as frequently as the rest of us, we think you will dig his blogs when he does write.
Nick Nevares…. where do I begin?
I first met Nick at his apartment, where he was selling Britton a bum X-Box 360.
(Ok let’s be fair, it worked when he sold it to Britton.)
(For about 15 minutes.)
Britton and Nick taught together at Rancho Bernardo High School once upon a time. It was there Britton discovered Nick’s zany wit and keen eye for Liza Menelli theatre wigs. Oh, and his passion for San Francisco 49ers football. Which reminds me, come September, Nick and I will be holding pity parties, with open invitations to you all.
Nick is also infamous for giving Grady Sizemore a 5-year/ $130-million contract, in our auction dynasty fantasy league. A league in which the cap is $200-million for a 25-man roster. Needless to say I don’t think a .223 average with a month’s worth of missed time was what Nick thought he was paying for through June.
We believe you will find that Nick’s work will fit right in with what you’ve come to expect from Not in HD pieces. So in other words, nothing spectacular.
Just kidding Nick. I’m sure our readers will love what you bring to the table.
Since Nick is a teacher, you can expect fairly frequent blogs from him in the summer months, but much more sporadic production thereafter.
Just don’t be surprised when they call you Jay Mariotti and compare your work to that of a mentally challenged, constipated chimpanzee.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
