Blake Griffin 2

With the first pick, of the 2009 NBA Draft, the Los Angles Clippers take… (Please not another Michael Olowokandi. No whammy, no whammy, no whammy!) … Blake Griffin. Forward out of the University of Oklahoma.

The NL Best?

The Los Angeles Dodgers are running away with the NL West, as they’re currently 8.5 games up on second place San Francisco, and still nine up on the Rockies, who have won 18 of their last 19 games. The Dodgers are 7.5 games in front of the next best NL team (the St. Louis Pujols Cardinals), and 3.5 ahead of the next best team in baseball (the Red Sox). Read more…

Alright, so it may have been roughly a month ago when I promised a Got Mail? blog. I got sidetracked with the NBA Finals, a Hodge Podge blog, some site notes and a sweet Top-10 YouTube clips blog. So let’s not focus on my month old preview, but rather the goodness I brought you since then. And don’t call it a broken promise, just delayed.

So here I am, ready to bring my “A” game. As always, our readers sent in some fantastic queries, but the biggest question is whether I’ll lead with an MLB, NBA Draft, NBA Finals, U.S. Open or Nike Puppets question… Read more…

Eric Chavez

This topic probably deserves about 800-1,000 more words than I’m going to give it tonight, if only because I’m an Oakland A’s fan. But I’m going to do what the A’s haven’t been able to do with Eric Chavez these past couple of years; I’m going to cut the cord, quick and painless.

Well, as painlessly as I can. Read more…

Because We All Love Lists: Top-10 Sports Related YouTube Videos

June 11, 2009 1 comment

If you are like me and odds are you are, (Wait… you like playing one-on-one Nerf basketball tournaments on your knees, pretending to be the great players of yore, only you are playing by yourself pretending to be both guys, in your bedroom too? I had no idea. We have so much in common.) the one thing you can’t resist while surfing the net, is a good list. Home runs, dunks, movies, cheesy ’80’s music videos, SNL sketches, commercials, you name it – so long as the list is compiled of the best or worst of something all-time, I’m game.

And so are you, which is why you are here, getting ready to check out my Top-10 sports related YouTube videos. If I left off one of your favorites, either because I didn’t know about it, or like it, fear not my communist friend, simply post it in the comment section so every one else can either commend your good tastes, or mock you mercifully.

Before we get to the clips, there are three things I judged them on: Read more…

NBA Finals Magic Lakers BasketballThe Lakers snuck out of Los Angeles last night with a 101-96 victory over the Orlando Magic, giving Los Angeles a 2-0 series lead. This game contrasted the first game of these Finals in so many ways, yet the end result was still was the same. Read more…

The Hodge Podge: A Whirlwind of Fury

In getting caught up in the NBA Finals, Britton, Dan and I haven’t been fulfilling our civic duties of satisfying your baseball fix. For that we apologize. In retribution I’ve decided to give the Hodge Podge a bit of flare, by making this chaotic array of thoughts only about baseball.

Let’s do this.

I’ve been thinking… Read more…
